2. How we use your information
- To connect Customers with Mechanics and facilitate repair jobs
- To process payments, generate receipts, and send invoice confirmations
- To communicate with you about your account, bookings, or support requests
- To maintain safety and trust on the Platform (e.g., reviewing ratings and complaints)
- To improve and operate the Platform
3. How we share information
We share information only as needed to operate the Platform:
- Between Customers and Mechanics — your name, service address, and job details are shared with the Mechanic assigned to your job (and vice versa) so the job can be completed.
- Stripe — our payment processor, to securely handle payments. Stripe has its own privacy policy governing payment data.
- Service providers — such as our hosting provider, solely to operate the Platform.
- Law enforcement or legal process — only when required by law.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Sign-in, cookies, messages, and mechanic information
- Sign-in with Google or Facebook: if you choose it, we receive the basic profile details you allow (such as name and email). We do not receive your Google or Facebook password.
- Cookies and analytics: we use cookies and similar tools to keep you signed in and to understand how the site is used (pages visited and general activity).
- Texts and emails: we use your email and phone number to send job updates, estimates, receipts, and account messages.
- Location: we use your service address to match you with a nearby Mechanic. Where tracking is available during an active job, the Mechanic's location may be shown to you.
- Reviews: reviews on our site may come from our public Google Business listing.
- Mechanics: for mechanics we also collect application and qualification details, background check results, proof of insurance, payout details, and the tax information (such as an IRS Form W-9) needed to pay you and issue tax forms. This is used only to operate the Platform and meet legal obligations.
5. Data retention
We retain account and job records for as long as your account is active, and as needed afterward to meet tax, accounting, and legal obligations (such as invoice and payment records).
6. Your choices
- You can review and update your account information from your dashboard.
- You can request deletion of your account by contacting us at the email below, subject to records we're legally required to keep (e.g., paid invoices).
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and administrative safeguards to protect your information, including restricted access to data files and secure, PCI-compliant payment processing through Stripe. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's privacy
Mechanic Dasher is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
