1. Requesting a mechanic is free
There is no fee to request a mechanic. Your mechanic confirms the price (labor and parts) before any work begins, and you approve it first. You are only charged for repair work after you approve an estimate and the job is completed. The one exception is the cancellation fee in section 2. To send a request you save a card to your account and agree to this policy; saving the card does not charge it.
2. Canceling a job
- Before a mechanic is on the way: you can cancel at no charge.
- After your mechanic is already on the way: a flat $35 cancellation fee applies, because the mechanic has already set aside time and travel for your job. It is charged to the card saved on your account and you receive an email receipt.
- If the mechanic cancels: you are not charged, and we will try to match you with another mechanic.
- No-shows: if no one is available at the service address when the mechanic arrives, the $35 cancellation fee applies. Repeated late cancellations or no-shows by either side may lead to account suspension.
3. Estimates and what you pay for
Your mechanic gives you an itemized estimate before chargeable work begins. Work beyond the estimate needs your separate approval. If you decline an estimate, you are not charged for the repair. Parts are billed at cost plus a 15% handling fee, shown as its own line on your estimate. When the job is complete, you approve and pay securely through the app.
4. Parts you supply
If you choose to provide your own parts, tell us on the request form. Your mechanic will check that the part fits, but no warranty applies to customer-supplied parts, and labor to install or remove a part that fails is billed at the normal rate. If the mechanic believes a supplied part is wrong or unsafe, they may decline to install it.
5. Workmanship warranty
Every completed repair includes a 90-day labor warranty (a mechanic may offer longer). If the repair fails because of the mechanic's work during that period, the mechanic will correct it at no additional labor charge. The warranty does not cover misuse, damage from a crash or from continuing to drive after a warning sign appears, new damage, normal wear, problems unrelated to the repair, or parts you supplied. Parts purchased through the job carry the part seller's or manufacturer's warranty.
6. Refunds
- Work not done or not completed: you should not pay for work that was not performed. Contact us and we will review and adjust the charge.
- Charge you did not approve: contact us right away. We will review the estimate and approval record and correct any charge that was not authorized.
- Quality problems: use the warranty process first. If a mechanic cannot or will not fix it, we will review the job and may issue a full or partial refund at our discretion.
- Approved work done as agreed: charges for work you approved and that was completed as described are generally not refundable.
Approved refunds go back to the original card. Your bank decides how long it takes to appear.
7. How to make a request or dispute a charge
Contact us from your dashboard, use the complaint form, or email mmechanicdasher@gmail.com. Include the job date, the mechanic's name, and what happened. Please contact us before filing a dispute with your bank so we can try to fix it directly.
